Play all you want, and only pay for what you want to keep.

Materials fee = $1.50/lb for items you do keep.

This covers Clay, Glazes and Firing.

(The average student has about a $18-30 materials fee.)

PLEASE READ: We limit our class sizes so that each person can get the instructions they need. The classes are also on-going, so if you need to miss a week for some reason, you don't fall behind. If you do miss a class, it can be made up later. You are allowed one make-up class per paid session.

Deposits: To keep the class sizes small and the more covenant on-going schedule, we must ask a few things in return. One is full payment up front to be on the waiting list (if there is one) for the class you want to take. This will motivate you to show up when an opening becomes available and helps us keep the classes full from week to week without empty seats between ending and starting students. Our instructors are paid even if you don't show up. We need to keep a good flow going if we are going to make a profit by year 2036.

Refunds: Nope!

Not unless we cancel a entire session. So far, we haven't.

After all, what's the point of a deposit if you can get it back?

If you can't start when we have an opening, you go to the back of the list.

If you can't start at all, give your class to a friend or sell it on ebay. No refunds.

Workshops: We offer a monthly series of workshops for the more advanced studies. They are on specific topics ranging from kiln firing and glaze calculation to colored clay and throwing techniques.

Flat Rock Studios is a privately owned clay studio. We established it for those with an interest in pottery and sculptural clay as well as those in need of a place to work in a community format. The aim of the studio is to expose individuals to the excitement of working with clay and the firing process at multiple levels while building community.  We enjoy learning and so will you.
